Vortex Books & Comics Expansion

Thanks to the support of our customers, creatives, and the community, things have been so good that we're expanding Vortex Books & Comics! As you may have noticed, the store gets very crowded when we have book signings, writer's group meetings, open mic, movie night, Magic the Gathering, and other events. The building next to us has become available, and we'd like to expand our operations into it, creating the Vortex Books & Comics Annex -- a dedicated, climate-controlled space for all future events. This will cut down on the crowding, the temperature fluctuations, and allow us to host even more events than we are now. The store will stay where it is. Your favorite bookshelf or comic rack will still be there. (Indeed, with the addition of the Annex, we'll be able to expand the Gaming, Comics, and Nonfiction sections inside the main store). We're simply expanding into the next building for events.

While the store has proven profitable, this is a rather big expense after only being open 6 months, so we're inviting the community to get involved, if you so desire. We have put up a GoFundMe. All funds raised will go toward offsetting the initial expenditures of rent, security deposit, set-up, maintenance, and other expansion costs.
